Dad - Yes! Because I could not do it!
Mom - Yes, because I don't ever want her to give up on her dreams if she didn't make it. I worry about the outcome.

Always, homework is first and foremost

Yes, she understands the demands and is ready!

8 years old. She had a Disney tape that she loved to sing to. When ever the video camera was on, she would "ham" it up!
How did you find out about the "American Juniors" auditions?
Lucy kept checking the "American Idol" website. We found out on Wednesday that the Chattanooga audition was that Saturday. She would not have missed if, if she had to crawl to it!
Did you help your child rehearse for the audition? If so, what did you do?
I didn't help her personally. I don't sing, but I did drive her to voice lessons.
Do you get nervous watching your child perform?
A little...I don't realize it, but my older daughter told me that I hold my breath and take short little gasps of air while Lucy is singing! How weird!
Does your child have to finish homework before performing?
Lucy is very self motivated. She always gets all her work done, so I leave it up to her when she practices.
Do you think your child is ready for the demands of show business?
Lucy lives to sing. She loves music. She's ready for what ever comes next, she's been preparing since she was born! I'm just here to help the ride. We believe that God won't put anything in our path that we can't handle with his help.
Does your kid get the star treatment at home?
Absolutely not! She is the youngest of 3, so the other 2 give her a hard time if she tries to have an attitude. Lucy has a humble, down-to-earth personality, so it's usually not a problem.
Were you a performer when you were a child?
I sang in church once with my brother. We sang a Christmas duet. That is the only performance of my lifetime, (first & last)!
Have people ever told you that your child should be in show business?
We have met many encouraging, supportive people who are complimentary. She has been told that she has a great recording voice. We appreciate encouragement!

Yes! Provided her with transportation and money for voice lessons and watched her practice every day. Her dad, Bryan, helped her with technical parts of the song as he also has a beautiful voice.

Yes, but it is an excited nervousness.

So far she seems very comfortable with the demands.
