Angel Travis’ debut album “The Woman In Me” introduces a singer-songwriter whose voice and spirit powerfully join forces to deliver a musical tour de force. The young Washington State-bred, Los Angeles resident has a confident and elegant style that embraces its audience on the first listen. Her emotional honesty forges an immediate heart to heart connection.
Acclaimed producer and engineer, Michael Vail Blum (Madonna, Kelly Clarkson,Young Dubliners, Suicidal Tendencies, etc.) produced this 10-song debut. The disc features arrangements and keyboards from co-producer Herman Jackson. During his four decades in the business, he has collaborating with such artists as Narada Michael Walden, Tone Loc, Nancy Wilson, The Jazz Crusaders,The Temptations and Outkast.
Jeff Goldblum, a well known musician and presenter of exclusive music events in the Los Angeles area said,“I listened to this music, closed my eyes, and my heart felt like a candied apple dipped in rum.”
Angel Travis’ personal and artistic evolution can barely be contained on this radiant debut. As you hear “the magic” pour out of her self-penned and soulfully delivered songs, know that this is only the first of many triumphs from an artist whose gifts blend echoes of Etta James, Sarah McLachlan, Crystal Gayle,Valerie Wellington and other inspirations into one unique artistic signature.
