The song is on her latest album, The Art of Love & War, which was released last October. On "My People," Angie, accompanied by co-singer James Ingram, is basically a pep talk to African-Americans, and on the track, various successful and inspirational blacks and name-checked and given shout-outs, including Spike Lee, Oprah Winfrey, Michael Jordan, Barack Obama and perhaps most importantly, the Rutgers women's basketball team (the young ladies whom Don Imus slandered by calling them "nappy-headed hos.")
We heard some good stories about "My People" music video by Angie Stone and yeah, we like it.
This is a somewhat 'older' joint but still very tight. A lot of people have given their thumbs up and so should you.
