Double Mobo nominee Bashy doesn’t just release singles he creates talking points, moments of audio brilliance that captivate the listener and spark debate and comment that transcends the three minutes and thirty something seconds they occupy.
Life is destined to continue the trend as Bashy pours two emotive verses over a soulfully layered Toddla T production. The fourth video from his acclaimed ‘Catch Me if You Can’ album, Life see’s Bashy go back to street commentator mode touching subjects of greed, underage sex, dreams won and more often lost, in a way only he can.
The video sets itself apart too painting the perfect picture to match Bashy’s almost tangible delivery. Dropping snaps shots of each scene as Bashy skips effortlessly between each bar.
Not one to take a day off, Ashley Thomas aka ‘Bashy’ is about to embark on a national theatre tour as the lead in the play ‘Marcus The Sadist’ throughout October. Including dates at Nottinghams Playhouse, Manchester’s Contact Theatre, Londons Bloombury, The Drum in Birmingham, West Yorkshire Playhouse in Leeds and the New Wolsey Theatre in Ipswich among others.
If that wasn’t enough he’ll also be starting the filming of his first major feature, for the big British movie Shank, that’ll be hitting cinema’s nationally in 2010. Bashy also drops a cameo appearance in Noel Clarke’s new movie 4,3,2,1 alongside Julia Robert’s niece Emma.
Plus he was recently signed up by the War Child charity to join the star studied Young Soul Rebels collective alongside, N Dubz, VV Brown, Chipmunk, Ironik, Pixie Lott, Tinchy Stryder, Mclean & Mpho to release the single ‘I Got Soul’ ****THE TRACK HAS JUST BEEN ADDED TO THE RADIO 1 C – LIST****
