America: meet Black Wire.
They just signed to Chicago-based indie Giant Pecker Records, and are looking forward to making their US debut with BLACK WIRE on February 14th, 2006.

Black Wire are three thin young lads from Leeds who formed in 2003 and have become one of the most exciting emerging bands in the UK today. Born on the wrong side of the tracks in the early 80’s, Tom, Si and Dan met by chance at a local record shop one dismal afternoon while each was trying to shoplift the store's only copy of the first Suicide album. Bonding instantly, they formed Black Wire. Upon realizing that most drummers are ugly and sexually deviant, the guitarists and singer chose to employ a drum machine on stage and stay a three-piece. With the UK release of their self-titled debut they turned heads all over the country with songs and a live show that raised everyone’s temperature .

…As a matter of fact, the Kaiser Chiefs wrote the song “I Predict A Riot” about a Black Wire gig at legendary Leeds rock night PIGS.

Since their formation, Black Wire have been building a reputation by touring England relentlessly, hitting up the festival circuit, performing university halls and stirring up a frenzy in clubs. Along the way, they have shared the stage with bands like The Cribs, The Futureheads, Ladytron and the Arctic Monkeys.

Black Wire has quickly been gaining attention in the media at home. Their first UK single, the anthemic “Hard To Love Easy To Lay” has been in rotation all over the radio, and the band has been featured on national TV programs. Besides coverage in numerous zines, and several national publications, Black Wire are looking forward to an upcoming pictoral by photographer Mick Rock in Citizen K magazine.
