The New Sound of Hip Hop & R&B: Brandon Beal, singer, songwriter and producer has the talent, drive and vision to make it to the top. Watch closely as this artist soars to the top. He's bashfull at first. It's crazy, says Beal, when you're walking down the aisle of a grocery store and hear someone singing your music. It's like a sign from God and you have no choice but to take the route of music, because it seems as if people already love your music and see you as a superstar.
From Football to Music: Brandon Beal, once a college football player, painfully ended his football career due to a neck injury in practice. The irony here is, that this actually made him buckle down on his music career 100%. It was one of the hardest tasks in my life (giving up football for good), but it seemed to work out perfectly because now I can't be separated from music, says Beal. Its crazy because, I used to focus on getting to the NFL, and music was just a hobby. I did it just because I had the talent and I made a little bit of spending money here and there, but now I'm trying to make it in the music industry and I barely even watch the NFL.
A Little Bit Country: Originally from Tyler, Texas; a town so small that people could identify you by your car, says Brandon. Although now a native New Yorker, he still credits his hometown with instilling in him the fierce work ethic he possesses today. No one rests on their laurels there. Tyler is also the place Brandon, the son of a preacher man and a high school teacher, first discovered the power of music. The part I liked most about church was the choir. My mother & my grandmother would tear the church up (singing), he recalls. I would sit there and listen to them sing and the congregation would be mesmerized. When you sing in church, you learn how to push those buttons that make people feel what youre singing about. And when my father preaches, he hollers with everything he has in him. Folks get so caught up, that all of sudden the late rent, or the fact that you just got laid off and your lights were out, for that moment, none of that mattered. Brandon, who recently moved to New York City, may seem like a rookie in New York, but definitely not in the south. The young man has developed a great reputation through Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma, for his opening acts through an independent label (B.O.C Records) he was signed to at age 16. He has experienced opening for Erika Badu, Lil Flip, Slim thug, Mystical, Mike Jones, Paulwall, and several other major recording artist. He also has worked with major producers like: Lil' Jon, Eddie F., FatFather and Joe, Todd Terry, Amadeus, Rob Fusari, CedSolo, Corp, MultiMan, Firstman Prod., and many more Hot Producers. He has written and co-written for/with artist such as: Lindsay Lohan, Mya, Trey Songz, Paris Hilton, Carl Henry, Chris Brown, Firstman, Lil Za, Ally A., Dushyanthi, etc... and has done production for major and upcoming artist around the U.S. Brandon Beal (who was nick-named - The Man of Many Talents - by his friends) says, there's is almost nothing he can't do, and if he can't do it, he says, it won't take him anytime to learn. In my opinion, I've done all the dirty work, says the 22 year old. Now it's time to do me and if the music industry can't open the door for me , I'll just have to build my own door with MMG. Brandon Beal was recently chosen by the Independent A&R company A&R Select in Hollywood, California as a feature artist to promote music for record label and publishing deals.
