Bruno Mars Sold Over 14 Million Singles
Bruno Mars’ debut album “DOO-WOPS & HOOLIGANS” is now RIAA-certified Platinum in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Germany, Australia and New Zealand, and 2x Platinum-certified in Ireland. The album is also RIAA-certified Gold across multiple international territories including Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland and France. Mars has also sold an impressive 14.7 million singles worldwide.
Mars – who earlier this year took home a “Best Male Pop Vocal Performance” Grammy Award for “Just The Way You Are” – is currently set to make his debut appearance on American Idol, slated to air live on Fox on Thursday, April 28th at 8 pm ET/PT (check local listings).

Bruno has also just been honored with inclusion on “The 2011 TIME 100,” the magazine’s annual list naming the people who most affect our world. Mars joins the world’s most influential artists, activists, heads of state and captains of industry on the prestigious list. Announced last week, Mars is one of the top finalists for the 2011 Billboard Music Awards. The ceremonies will air live on ABC from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 22nd at 8 pm ET/PT (check local listings).
Mars was named a finalist in 11 prestigious categories, including “Top Male Artist,” “Top Hot 100 Artist,” “Top Digital Songs Artist,” “Top Radio Songs Artist,” and “Top New Artist.” In addition, Bruno’s 4x RIAA platinum-certified debut single, “Just The Way You Are,” received nods for “Top Hot 100 Song,” “Top Pop Song,” “Top Digital Song,” “Top Radio Song,” and “Top Streaming Song (Audio).” And as if all that weren’t enough, “Nothin’ On You (Feat. Mars is now getting ready to kick off his long awaited “Hooligans In Wondaland Tour” with Wondaland Arts Society/Bad Boy/Atlantic recording artist Janelle Monáe. The much-anticipated North American co-headlining tour begins Wednesday, May 4th with a long-sold-out show at New York City’s Roseland Ballroom and then continues through mid-June (see attached itinerary). Accompanying Mars and Monáe on dates from May 4th through May 27th will be Atlantic recording artist Plan B; from May 28th through June 16th, support comes from Mayer Hawthorne & The County.
