Carter's Chord - self-titled

Show Dog Records' group, Carter's Chord, the widely acclaimed trio that was introduced last year to Country radio, will release their self-titled debut through all major online retailers on June 17th. The album's physical release is expected later this year.

Carter's Chord is well known for their natural sibling harmonies and the trio consists of sisters Becky, Emily and Joanna Robertson. The debut album was produced by Toby Keith and Barny Robertson, the girl's dad.

Barny and Carter (mom) Robertson are accomplished musicians/artists in their own rite and toured in Waylon Jennings' band until the birth of Becky, the oldest of the sisters. With the parents introducing them to music, the trio started early. They made their major label debut as children, singing on Waylon Jennings' country album for kids, Cowboys, Sisters, Rascals & Dirt. Even the name Carter's Chord is homage to their mother.

Eventually the Carter's Chord sisters made their way to Nashville, where Toby Keith became one of many 'instant fans,' leading to the record deal for Toby's label, Show Dog.

The self-titled album includes 10 tracks, five written by Becky, Emily or Joanna, and a backing vocal (on "Summer Early '60s") by their mother Carter, who is also the song's composer. The album also features the band's latest single, "Different Breed."

Some of the other Nashville writers who contributed songs for the album include Hillary Lindsey ("Jesus Take the Wheel"), Sarah Buxton ("Stupid Boy"), and Kim Ritchey ("Believe Me Baby I Lied").

This summer the girls will tour with Keith, Montgomery Gentry and Trailer Choir on Keith's Biggest & Baddest Tour, running June through fall 2008.
