Filmed entirely at the Phoenix Theater in Petaluma, CA, the idea for the video was based on characters from an original screenplay written by McCombs and director Brown. Brown himself playing a "Demiurge", a supernatural being that controls time and space, as well as the actions of McCombs, Ms. Black and certain teenagers, nefariously making skaters fall from their boards at will, etc. His tools are: a video editing station, a synthesizer, an obsidian 'scrying' stone, and a nautical astrolabe. Ms. Black's character is presented as perhaps a creation of Brown's imagination, that is, his very own "Dreams-Come-True-Girl". "Dreams-Come-True-Girl" is an attempt at a new kind of love song. The length of the bridge and electric guitar solo alone demonstrate musical innovation. The overall message is that of love and hope, and possibly a prophesy to a deeper understanding, wrapped together in a rock-and-roll template.
We are still enjoying "Dreams-Come-True-Girl" music video by Cass McCombs (a Thumbs Up!) although its been over three months since its been released (May, 2009). Why not? Songs don't get old, they get better.
Sorry but I assume this song isnot going to be a classic in a longshot. No idea but these things happen.
