Seattle's Central Services is no stranger to the radio. In fact, with hardly any promo or outside push, the band managed to secure a 'Featured Artist' spot on NPR, not to mention being a KEXP favorite (7 out of 10 tracks on the latest release saw airplay). Central Services is a radio-ready act that maintains an indie hipness like Portastatic or Nada Surf. The pop-catchiness doesn't feel like a guilty pleasure, mostly because the music is so damn good. Melodies are a-plenty, and coupled with sweet vocals that recall younger days, crushes, and innocence. The band also shines on acoustic numbers with a 70's era melodic-focused simplicity. Central Services delivers genuine and genius tracks that remain with listeners indefinitely. Get onboard now-- this band is the next big thing.

Biography
Central Services has received acclaim around Seattle for their "boundary breaking" sound (Three Imaginary Girls AstroPop, Sept '06). Their music draws heavily from 70's-era aesthetics and textures, as well as songwriting craft for countermelody, bridges and pacing. While alternative rock radio station 107.7 The End has played the band's more 'rocking' songs, stations like 103.7 The Mountain and Music For Listeners (San Antonio) have emphasized the band's acoustic side. KEXP 90.3 has championed Central Services' melodic indie-pop songs, giving airplay to 7 of the 10 tracks on their latest release.
The band put out a 4-song EP called We're All Smarter Now in December 2005. August 2006 saw the release of their self-titled LP, which KEXP's John Richards recently listed at #5 in his Northwest Top 10. "Get To You," the LP's opening track, is slated to be featured on an upcoming installment of NPR's Open Mic segment of All Songs Considered.
