Collin Raye 'Selected Hits' album

The new Collin Raye "SELECTED HITS" album is unique in that it contains six great songs and is available exclusively at Wal-Mart stores for under $6. In addition to two new songs ("A Soldier's Prayer" and the equally powerful "Quitters") the album contains four of Collin's biggest hits ("That's My Story," "Little Rock," "I Think About You" and "Love Me" ) all recorded "live" with the Salt Lake Symphony Orchestra in front of an audience of 8000 who sang along. It is first time that live recordings of these have been available and there is a six-minute interview with Collin as a bonus feature.

Such is the case with his newest single "A Soldier's Prayer". This unique song is very special, addressing the raw nerve of military families embroiled in a war. The song struck is song is so timely and powerful that its success at radio started spreading like wildfire due to listener demand.

The result of this fervor found Raye a new record label home, StarPointe Records where he is the flagship artist. In May, Raye, superstar manager Ken Kragen and partner mogul Pat Melfi announced the creation of a new independent record label, StarPointe Records. As part owner, Collin now has the freedom he's never had to record songs he loves.

Once again, as he has done throughout his stellar career, Collin Raye proves his humanity and commitment to giving back with this record. Proceeds from the Soldier's Prayer song go to Wounded Warrior Project. An avid supporter of the military, Collin has found that there is something deeper and more profound about what he does than merely entertaining people. "Music can make a difference," says the performer of such powerful material as "One Boy, One Girl," "That Was A River" and "What The Heart Wants." “Winning an award isn't enough incentive for me. People come to these shows to be moved by the music.”

But Raye has a lighter side as well. Collin’s musical favorites include: The Beach Boys, Elton John, Johnny Cash, and Waylon Jennings just to name a few... He Recorded “Let It Be” for Come Together, the Beatles Tribute Album, “The Wall “ for NASCAR Runnin’ Wide Open and “Brown Sugar” for Stone Country. He enjoys playing guitar, bass and drums and has the distinction of climbing Mt. Rainer. Collin has a mean left hook? He’s an avid boxing fan, has hung out with “The Undertaker”, “duked” it out with a few pros and hopes to meet his hero “Muhammad Ali” one day.
