DJ G. Brown 'International Hustlers Volume 2' album

First are the basics: be able to rock any party at any time, have a thorough arsenal of turntable skills, and possess an extensive knowledge of music. Additionally, he must have a persona, and a presence that extends beyond that of his local territory. Equally as important, the perfect deejay must have a full understanding of marketing, both for himself as an artist and for the music that he plays. Whether itis via radio, TV, mixtapes or clubs, the perfect deejay must be global. Enter Brooklynis Best-Kept Secret: DJ G. Brown.

This Boston-born, Brooklyn-based deejay has created a niche all his own. His radio show is currently heard in four countries, his mixtapes are available on six continents, and he has rocked crowds in more than 20 countries. Known for merging the worlds of Hip Hop and Reggae together, G. Brown is well on his way to becoming a global commodity.

A B-Boy from age seven, G. experimented with every element of Hip-Hop before he finally found his true calling. With money made from hustling, he bought his first turntables when he was 17, and at 18 he moved to Florida where he attended the University of Miami.

Quickly making his mark on the college party circuit and college/underground radio, G. soon became the talk of Hip-Hop circles around Miami. This led to the local DJ battle circuit, where he competed alongside two of the worldis greatest turntablists, DJ Craze (3x DMC World Champion) and Infamous (ITF US Champion). His rep soon spread, leading to opening spots for Outkast and Busta Rhymes, and residencies at various nightclubs on South Beach.

In early 1999, G. Brown packed his bags. Destination: Brooklyn. Upon arrival, he was recruited by the Lyricist Lounge for their 1999 US Tour. Source Magazine also recruited him to add cuts for their syndicated TV show, Source All Access. In 2000 he became the tour deejay for Afu-Ra (Gangstarr Foundation), which immediately gave him international exposure. G. also had the opportunity to perform alongside artists like Jay-Z and Gangstarr at events like Howard Universityis Homecoming and the Annual Rocksteady Anniversary. Aside from his duties as tour deejay, G. Brown also blew up clubs and festivals worldwide in England, Germany, Italy, Switzerland and Brazil.

In 2001, G. Brown made his debut in the mixtape scene. Influenced by such mixtape icons as Tony Touch and Dirty Harry, he soon became known for his unique ear, his "Pure Fiya" turntable skills, and trademark "Flawless Blends". His mixes soon became a favorite amongst bootleggers worldwide, reaching as far away as Zimbabwe and New Zealand. This notoriety helped lead to collaborations with Sean Paul, Gangstarr, and Wayne Wonder. G. was even asked to come and speak about his knowledge of the mixtape game at the world-famous Scratch Academy, a school for deejays founded by the legendary Jam Master Jay (R.I.P).

In 2002, less than one year after he began making mixtapes, G was nominated for an award at Justois Annual Mixtape Awards. The year also marked G Brownis return to the airwaves with the debut of his syndicated Reggae/Hip-Hop mixshow, "Pure Fiya Radio". The show can currently be heard on various commercial stations in the US, and his mixes can be heard regularly on BBC 1xtra(London), Jamm FM(Berlin), Radyoyo(Slovenia), Blackout Radio(Croatia), Suite 903 (Sirius) and AOL Radio.

2004 is proving to be an even bigger year for G. Touring the globe and collaborating with a Whois Who list of Hip Hop and Reggae superstars, G Brown has turned many heads in the music industry worldwide. Most recently, he collaborated with Cornerstone Promotions to release his first ever mixDVD (Cornerstone #50), rocked parties in Europe and South America (UK, Italy, France, Brazil, Colombia, etc), as well as moonlight as tour deejay for The Beatnuts.
