Send to a Friend'Gravity Pulls' is the long anticipated fifth album from London-based band echobelly on takeout records and their first U.S. release since 1997.

echobelly has had a string of critically acclaimed and successful albums. Their debut album, 'Everyone's Got One', went Gold in the U.K. in '94. The follow up, 'On', went Platinum in 95 and they have had six top 40 singles, including "I Can't Imagine The World Without Me". echobelly's success is not limited to the U.K. alone; they have had success globally and have a cult following in the U.S. and Japan.
From 1993 to present, the echobelly trio of: Sonya Aurora Madan (vocals), Glenn Johansson (guitar) and Andy Henderson (drums) have proven themselves to be classic pop songwriters, with songs that swaggered and seduced as if Blondie had fused with The Smiths, only better.
In 1997, echobelly hit hard times. But despite departing bassists, lawsuits with their accountant and management, and leaving their record label, Epic, echobelly persevered. They formed their own label, Fry Up, and began recording again. `Gravity Pulls' was recorded with bassist Ruth Owen at 2k in London.
According to linear chronology 'Gravity Pulls' is the band's fifth album. In essence, it's the second from the re-invented band who escaped from the pressures of major labels, media assumptions and insular scenes just in time for the millennium. This album makes no effort to bowl you over instantly. Instead it unfolds slowly as a sublime panorama. Songs swoop upward dramatically reminding you that the band can rock, and then give way to reflective atmospheres. Fans of The Smiths, Elastica, and everything indie will enjoy `Gravity Pulls'. This album is not part of the corporate music machine - the result is an album that pulls you in, as the title says.
`Gravity Pulls' will be released in the US by takeout records and will be available in all major music retail chains.
