Emma-Lee Hitchhikes On New Album Backseat Heroine
Back in 2008 Emma-Lee debuted with her album 'Never Just a Dream' which, after releasing music since 2004, got picked up. Now in 2012 she announced the follow-up 'Backseat Heroine' out on February 7th. Along the announcement comes the warning(?) it is leans more towards Stevie Nicks than Sarah Vaughn.
Whatever the reason her new album features collaborations with Nicole Atkins, Jill Barber and Luke Doucet. The first single 'Not Coming By' has seen its official video released two weeks ago. The feedback given by her fans is amazing so was the review by Kentucky Blog.
If you have not already seen her YouTube videos then you should. She has an amazing so-called 'Backseat Sessions' in which she hitchhikes and performs 'one song for one ride' resulting in lovely, surprising, great videos. She has a Canadian tour, is appearing at Midem in Cannes and in London and has SXSW in her sights.

Velvet voiced EMMA-LEE won critics over with her debut album Never Just a Dream. Its eclectic mix of pop, jazz, folk and blues charmed listeners with old-time warmth and honest, confessional lyrics. The Toronto Star said “She's destined for big things” and receiving a perfect 4 of out 4 stars for the album. The Globe and Mail, while mentioning her career imperiling operation on her thyroid gland and another for an unrelated vocal-chord polyp, calls her voice “Spectacular. They sprinkled gold dust inside her throat, implanted strands of silk and coated it all with gleaming honey. The surgeries, suffice to say, were a success.”
