Erykah Badu 'New Amerykah Part 2' album

Dallas musician Erykah Badu is one of four "socially conscious celebrity influencers" partnering with skin-care company Kiehl's to create label art for a limited-edition run of the company's Superbly Restorative Argan Body Lotion. Badu's contribution, a trippy swirl of Afro curls, butterflies and ferns, does more than just dress up the bottle. One hundred percent of net proceeds benefit the Waterkeeper Alliance, a grassroots advocacy organization dedicated to protecting and preserving community waterways.

Badu makes her return to music on August 18th with New Amerykah, Part 2 (Return of the Ankh). The effort is the sequel to last year's New Amerykah, Part 1 (4th World War).

Named after the Egyptian hieroglyphic character meaning "eternal life," Ankh is more spiritual and emotional than its predecessor. "Part 2 would be the other group of songs which are more right brained and emotional if you will," the singer told the Austin American-Statesman in March. "They fit together like a puzzle sonically, how they sound, how they feel."
