Toronto-based rock band Evans Blue is back to work at The Pocket Studios, recording their third album with producer Trevor Kustiak. The self-titled album marks the debut of new frontman Dan Chandler, who was selected after an extensive six-month nationwide search. Singer/songwriter Chandler hails from St. Louis, Missouri.
With the addition of Chandler and the energy that he brings to the mix, the band is writing their best and most diverse collection of songs to date. The new material stays true to the core fans with signature dark and heavy riffs, but it is simultaneously uplifting.
Evans Blue has evolved, and these five musicians are ready to take the band to a higher level. Evans Blue fans can expect a new single in April, with the new album to be released on June 23rd on Sounds+Sights, coinciding with a US tour this summer.
Evans Blue debuted in 2006 with their first release, The Melody and the Energetic Nature of Volume, which spawned the Top 5 Active Rock single "Cold (But I'm Still Here)." The single garnered national attention after Sirius Octane picked it up early, and the band was soon signed to Hollywood Records. Their second album, THE PURSUIT BEGINS WHEN THIS portrayal OF LIFE ENDS, was released in July 2007, also on The Pocket/Hollywood. Since then, the two albums have collectively sold over 650,000 units worldwide. The band has toured North America with such artists as Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, Staind, Seether, Shinedown, Trapt and Taproot.
Sounds+Sights is a production and management company and new label imprint founded by manager Mari Dew and producer Trevor Kustiak, who have both been working with Evans Blue since early 2005.
