Foxy Shazam releases their cover of "Heaven On Their Minds" from the rock opera/musical Jesus Christ Superstar. it's from the amazing compilation "Gift Wrapped II: Snowed" by Warner Music.
Eric Nally explains: "Before you hear this I would like to explain. On first listen you might think to yourself... 'this is not a Christmas song, what were they thinking? Where's Frosty the Snowman or Grandma Got Ran Over By a Reindeer?' Well, let me tell you. This is the reason I chose this song; This is Judas' effort to express in musical monologue his concern over Jesus' rising popularity as a 'king' and the negative repercussions that will have. While Judas still loves Jesus, he believes that Jesus is just a man, not God. I believe Judas' message can translate to the way people think of Christmas these days, but where Judas is concerned with God being replaced by Jesus, I am concerned with Jesus being replaced by Christmas Presents."
Foxy will start to tour beginning January 2011 with Anberlin and Circa Survive.

I am still loving this song hence it deserves a thumbs up! Although its been over three months since it deserved a 'Thumbs Up' here at MusicRemedy. An oldie but didnot make it to 'goodie'. Apparantly not enough attention to make it to the top. A pity...Click on the 'play'-button and enjoy!

I give it 3 of 5 stars.
