GS Boyz to release Stanky Legg

Battery/Jive Records have teamed with Yung Joc's Swagg Team Entertainment and their blazing new artists’, The GS Boyz. Needing no introduction, The GS Boyz has originated the nation's biggest song and dance craze: The Stanky Legg. From its genesis in teen nightclubs in the group's hometown of Arlington, Texas, to millions of hits on YouTube and MySpace prominence, now to worldwide exposure and renown via satellite radio, the dance boasts millions of practitioners. And the accompanying single "Stanky Legg," has garnered legions of fans.

You already know their ubiquitous “Stanky Legg,” which has everyone from street-hardened soldiers to awkward high school teachers contorting themselves to the irrepressible beat. The song entered Billboard’s Hip-Hop and R&B Airplay chart at #62 entirely independently.

This charismatic quintet has turned other prominent heads; Hotlanta heatmaker Yung Joc signed them to his imprint through Battery/Jive Records, Swagg Team Entertainment.

The GS Boyz, originally a duo comprising "Prince Charming" aka Mathew Griffith and "Slizz" aka Keithian Cherry, assembled in 2005 around the Dallas-Fort Worth area. "Marc D" aka Maus Dinkins, Decory "DK" Kenner, and "Soufside" would come later. With a string of regional hits like "Hit the G-Spot," "Twisted," "He Don't Deserve You," and "First Time" making noise, the Boyz attracted the attention of high-profile Louisiana DJ Bay Bay, known best for breaking Hurricane Chris and his smash single "A Bay Bay." DJ Bay Bay helped push their most recent composition, "Stanky Legg," which has snowballed into a global maelstrom. The song has currently peaked on the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop Charts at #62 entirely independently, with over 4000 spins at radio and is still growing. Meanwhile, The GS Boyz are busy touring with headline acts Soulja Boy, Lil' Flip, Bun B, and others.

Come 2007, the quartet added one more member, a local MC named “Soufside” aka Telson Flowers. Proving to be the last piece of the puzzle, Soufside helped compose what has since become their global phenomenon, “Stanky Legg.” The song and its accompanying dance caught the ear of high-profile Louisiana DJ Bay Bay, known best for breaking Hurricane Chris and his smash single “A Bay Bay.” He helped push The GS Boyz to where they are now: busy touring with headline acts Soulja Boy, Lil’ Flip, Bun B, Mike Jones, and others. The song and dance have spread to six continents, and the groundswell won’t stop there. Expect their debut album, through Battery Records, sometime in 2009.
