Gods of Fire 'Hanukkah Gone Metal' album

Written and performed by New York City heavy metal band Gods of Fire, Hanukkah Gone Metal is an eight song collection celebrating all the fun and importance of the Festival of Lights. Both triumphant and uplifting, this wildly inventive album tells the story of Hanukkah through a rich fusion of heavy metal music, traditional melodies, operatic vocals and a klezmer soul.

Gods of Fire are a traditional Metal band from New York City. In their brief six years of existence the band has put out two full length albums, performed as the pit band of a fashion show, have been featured on two major motion picture soundtracks, and were the musical directors for a play about competitive air guitar. A factor in the broad appeal of the band is the ability to not take themselves too seriously. Without being parody nor ironic, Gods of Fire celebrate all that is fun and amazing about Metal. Whether through scantily clad backup singers know as the “Fire-ettes,” elaborate set and costume changes, or more fog and pyro than your average local club can handle, the audience never knows what to expect from a Gods of Fire live show. This is all set to finely crafted progressive-influenced power metal with soaring operatic vocals and epic lyrical themes. Currently the band is preparing for their upcoming appearance on the History Channel special “Surviving the Holidays with Lewis Black” and working on their third album while also writing a Metal musical based on the works of HP Lovecraft.
