Gretchen Lieberum's latest album, 'Siren Songs', is her most personal work to date. With its wealth of creative musical ideas Lieberum reminds both old jazz lovers and new trip hop gurus how artists can still expand the boundaries of style. In the late 1990's Lieberum's debut album, '3am', gained enormous popularity, and her songs were downloaded by millions. With such success, Lieberum was signed to Lakeshore Records (Warner Bros) and released her second album 'Brand New Morning', which she co-produced with Greg Poree. The album featured several collaborations with DJ Cut Chemist of Jurassic 5 and Ozomatli fame.
As a 'Staff Recommended' artist at Hear Music and a 'Staff Favourite' artist at iTunes, Gretchen's music started to trickle down to the masses. Songs from 'Brand New Morning' began topping the charts on Rhapsody.com, where her music charted side by side with Coldplay and Eminem. Songs also appeared on television and in the movies including the WB hit 'Felicity' and the Sundance Awared winning film 'Mean Creek'.
Los Angeles based singer songwriter Lieberum was raised in Berkeley where her passion for jazz, soul and urban beats developed within the Bay area music scene.
Do You Realize, an extraordinary cover of the Flaming Lips classic will be the first single from the album in the UK, and is available to download from July 16th. The video, shot in Los Angeles and a beautiful piece of work, is already making waves on the worldwide web. Do You Realize is backed up with Paper Tigers, another fine track from the album.
Siren Songs will be in stores on July 30.
