Iller Than Theirs: Girl Song video + song

Perhaps the most impressive part of "Girl Song" is that it's at once completely bananas as well as just one of eleven tracks that could potentially act as the single off Iller Than Theirs' debut LP. With a dusty flute and pounding pianos characteristic of some of The Beatnuts' better work, emcees Krayo and Tone Tank have near flawless production at their disposal. Needless to say, they take full advantage - discussing female oriented topics ranging from girls' elusive nature to Iller Than Theirs' "game" and lack thereof. While much of the content is honest and humble, humor seeps through into the hook ("don't need no picket fences/ don't need your daddy's blessings/ rather picture you undressin'") and after the last verse ("Come on shake that intelligence! Work that self-respect, giiiirl!"). Not an album - or song - to sleep on in 2007.
