In 2005, J. Wells completed his debut album, Digital Master, which featured Bishop Lamont, Method Man, Mitchy Slick, Goodie Mob, Tha Liks, Jayo Felony, Kurupt, Roscoe, and Planet Asia.
More recently, J. Wells released a collaborative LP, Digital Smoke, with Kurupt on his Bonzi Records label and the project garnished great reviews from The Source, XXL, Allhiphop.com, LA times and many other media circuits.
There has been a surge in demand for J. Wells after having his tracks featured on hit taste-maker shows such as, The Sopranos and Six Feet Under, and F. Gary Gray's blockbuster film and soundtrack Be Cool. J's songs are also featured in the video games: EA Sports, 2004 Tiger?Woods Golf and EA Sports, 2006 Fight Night, as well as commercials for major corporations including McDonalds, Smirnoff, Starbucks, and Coors Light. J. Wells has also produced tracks for Goodie Mob, Snoop Dogg's EP/DVD The Adventures of The Blue Carpet Treatment and the title track "Work It Out," for Keyshia Cole’s 2007 release Just Like You.
J. Wells is also in the studio working with Ne-Yo, Bone Thugs, Kat Williams, Rah Digga, D-12, Dogg Pound, Nate Dogg, Rakim, DJ Quik, Canibus, Nicole Wray, Dead Prez, Angie Stone, Bobby Valentino, Da Brat and Tyrese, amongst others...
Currently, J. Wells is gearing up to release his second album Digital Master Vol. 2.1, which will be released on 4-14-09 and will feature appearances from Snoop Dogg, Estelle, Kurupt, Da Brat, WC, Roscoe, Tha Liks, Rah Digga and Mack 10.

By way of Los Angeles & Atlanta, Artist/Producer J. Wells became a protege of J-Ro (of Tha Alkaholiks), quickly learning the value of crafting melodies and creating compelling songs. Encouraged early on by J-Ro, J. Wells was invited to join the legendary Likwit Crew which includes Tha Alkaholiks (E-Swift, J Ro and Tash), King Tee, LootPack, Phil Da Agony, and Defari as well as the extended Likwit family of Xzibit, Dilated Peoples, Planet Asia, MadliEvidence, amongst others. Additionally, J. Wells toured with Tha Alkaholiks on Snoop Dogg's 2001 "Puff Puff Pass Tour". While on tour, J. Wells' talents caught the attention of West Coast's premier rapper, Kurupt. Recording after the tour, the pair began to make incredible music together and?the rest as they say was history.
J. Wells produced one of the most sought after mixtapes in West Coast mixtape history with his debut, J. Wells presents: The Wolfpac Mixtape, which garnered massive critical acclaim and sold more copies than almost any West Coast mixtape. The CD features guests including Kurupt, Styliztik, James DeBarge, El DeBarge, Y.A.,Roscoe, J Ro, Tash and Prodigal Sunn.

Wells produced "Work It Out" ..shia Coles' "Just Like You" album. He aslo produced songs for Snoop Dogg's EP & animated DVD "The Adventures of The Blue Carpet Treatment"
