This song really speaks for itself so there is not a whole lot to say about it. It's raw, hardcore Country, real and yes, a bit startling. Jamey is a true Country storyteller, and not all of his stories have fairytale endings. This song IS Country music, it is the kind of thing the format was built on. We gave "High Cost of Living" music video by Jamey Johnson a listen and yeah, it's a nice song (February, 2009). Forgotten? Ahhh damn, it shouldnot be. This song has received some well deserved thumbs-up when it was (unofficially) released.
