"I'm Yours," the Grammy Award-nominated hit single from Atlantic recording artist Jason Mraz, has made history as it ascends to #1 at AC radio outlets nationwide. The track becomes the first song ever to top the charts at AC, Hot AC, CHR/Top 40 and Triple A.
Mraz's first ever AC #1, "I'm Yours" continues to reach listeners one year after its initial arrival at Triple A radio last February. Since then, "I'm Yours" has spent time atop the airplay charts at Triple A, Hot AC, and CHR/Top 40, where it remains a Top 10 success. The song remained in the #1 slot at Hot AC for 10 weeks, the most amount of time for any artist in 2008.
The San Diego-based tunesmith -- who last weekend made his debut performance on NBC's "Saturday Night Live" -- is slated to celebrate with an appearance on the Tuesday, February 10th installment of the nationally syndicated "Ellen DeGeneres Show." He will be joined by Colbie Caillat for a very special live performance of their current single, "Lucky." This follows Mraz's recent appearances on NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," CBS' "The Late Show with David Letterman," and ABC's "Live with Regis and Kelly."

With a trio of Grammy Award nominations, including a prestigious "Song of the Year" nod for "I'm Yours," Mraz is among the top nominees at this Sunday's 51st Annual Grammy Awards. "I'm Yours" also was named in the "Best Male Pop Vocal Performance" category, while Mraz's acclaimed 2008 album, "WE SING. WE DANCE. WE STEAL THINGS." was acknowledged for "Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical" (marking the work of Dyre Gormsen and Tony Maserati).
"I'm Yours," which began as a demo on a limited edition version of Mraz's last album, has since become an online phenomenon. To date, the song has been streamed on his MySpace page more than 53 million times.
Mraz has scheduled a brief series of February dates in the US (see itinerary below) before embarking on a massive world tour, set to kick off later this month, with stops slated for Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Italy, Germany, France, Portugal, Spain, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Belgium, Ireland, and the United Kingdom.
A uniquely engaging and energetic performer, Mraz will make his live return to the US with a trio of spring concerts alongside Dave Matthews Band. The dates include an April 25th show at Nashville's Vanderbilt Stadium and a pair of much anticipated nights at Las Vegas' MGM Grand Garden Arena on May 8th and 9th.
Jason's new single, "Lucky (Feat. Colbie Caillat)," is shaping up to be as universally popular as "I'm Yours." The track is currently ascending the airplay chart at Hot AC and AAA outlets nationwide, while the companion video clip is on rotation at VH1, mtvU, and MTV Hits.
In the year since its initial release, "I'm Yours" has proven a true worldwide sensation. In addition to its #1 success here in the United States, the track has scored chart-topping runs in Sweden, Indonesia, Malaysia, France, Australia, Norway, Austria, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Portugal, and New Zealand, as well as top 3 success in Israel, Taiwan, Japan, Italy, Venezuela, Denmark, Hong Kong, Singapore and The Netherlands. What's more, "I'm Yours" has been a top 10 favorite in Germany, Thailand, Switzerland, Ecuador, Argentina, Belgium, Korea, and South Africa.
"I'm Yours" has received triple platinum certification from the RIAA for digital sales exceeding 3 million. The single has also been awarded with a variety of certifications around the globe, including triple platinum status in Norway, platinum in Australia, and gold in both Sweden and Austria.
Furthermore, "WE SING. WE DANCE. WE STEAL THINGS." has earned a range of international certifications. Along with gold certification here in the US, the album has received a double platinum award in Korea and platinum in Australia, along with gold records in Norway, Sweden, Singapore, Canada, Hong Kong, The Netherlands, Switzerland and France, and silver in the United Kingdom.
"WE SING. WE DANCE. WE STEAL THINGS." debuted at #3 on the SoundScan/Billboard 200 album chart upon its May 2008 release. Since then, the album has been in the top 50 of the chart for all 38 weeks, making Mraz one of only 3 artists currently in the top 50 to do so. A special limited edition of the album followed in November, including two audio CDs and a DVD. The first enhanced CD features the full album audio. The second CD consists of all three EPs issued prior to the full length release, each including unique versions of various album tracks: "WE SING," "WE DANCE," and "WE STEAL THINGS." The DVD features an hour-long live concert with Jason and his full band recorded at Highline Ballroom in New York City earlier this year plus a 30-minute documentary entitled "Here We Are." The limited edition "WE SING. WE DANCE. WE STEAL THINGS." also contains a 20-page book with lyrics to all songs.
Mraz's first set of all-new material in nearly three years, "WE SING. WE DANCE. WE STEAL THINGS." was produced by Martin Terefe, known for his work with KT Tunstall, Ron Sexsmith, and James Morrison. The album sees Mraz continuing to tread his own distinctive artistic path, melding a variegated musical tapestry with passionate, personal lyricism. Among the highlights are collaborations with British tunesmith James Morrison and singer/songwriter Colbie Caillat.
"WE SING. WE DANCE. WE STEAL THINGS." follows Mraz's two previous studio releases: 2002's RIAA platinum-certified breakthrough, "WAITING FOR MY ROCKET TO COME," and 2005's "MR. A-Z," which debuted at #5 on the Billboard 200. Mraz has also released a series of concert recordings, including 2004's "TONIGHT, NOT AGAIN: JASON MRAZ LIVE AT THE EAGLES BALLROOM" and 2006's digital-only release, "SELECTIONS FOR FRIENDS."

Jason Mraz interview
To record his third studio CD, Jason Mraz withdrew from the music industry so he wouldn't be affected by album sales and charts. Instead, the pop singer went to his hometown of San Diego and traveled to London while disconnecting himself from his phone and e-mail. The result: "We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things." Mraz calls the CD his most personal yet.
Months after its release, the album's first single, "I'm Yours," is still a hit on those charts Mraz tried to avoid, rounding off the top 10 this week on the Billboard Hot 100.
He has also released a new book, "A Thousand Things: Photographs by Jason Mraz."
AP: What's been your most memorable moment on tour?
Mraz: When I first started touring, I got to tour with Jewel for many long weeks and on our last night she invited me on stage to do a duet and we shared a microphone, and I always thought that was so great because I could clearly see in her mouth while she's singing. I'm like right there in her face. Like up her nose at times and feeling her breath in my face. Maybe it was kind of perverted for me to have those experiences but it was great as a fan and fellow musician. It's a great opportunity to be that close to other musicians.
AP: Talk more about this book of photos.
Mraz: For the past five years that I've been touring, I've taken Polaroid instant film; Polaroid 600, the cheapest kind you can buy.? And there's really something quite novelty and interesting about this film, and now I've taken thousands and thousands of pictures.
AP: Between studio sessions, live shows and the book, what's Jason doing in his free time?
Mraz: I spend a lot of my time, most of time, preparing food, believe it or not. I wake up everyday and I start my day with a super smoothie, which has about 24 ingredients in it, everything from a whole avocado to various powders and formulas and everything is raw. I also prepare raw salads. Most people think you get bored eating salads all the time, but these are some of the most hi-def salads you'll ever lay your eyes on. My hotel rooms essentially become little kitchens -- and I travel with what I call my little movable feast, which is this flight case full kitchen set-up. I've got a big blender, cutting board, knife (and) all these extra things.
AP: Speaking of foods, I hear you have an avocado farm.
Mraz: About five years ago, I moved to the wilderness just outside of San Diego (and) I just really wanted to live amongst the trees. In this area I found (that) all the trees were avocados. The trees produce about two, three times a year and different acreages have different kinds of avocados. ... It's kind of a magical place.
