Jenni Rivera is without a doubt the female leader of the Regional Mexican genre, an important figure within a genre traditionally dominated by men. The winner of various GOLD and PLATINUM records certified by the RIAA, gives to us her most recent record, entitled "JENNI", available now in stores was released on September 9, 2008.
The first single is called "Culpable o Inocente", by Camilo Blanes and made popular in the 80's by actress/singer Lucia Méndez. That track was recorded in a banda and pop versions with the unique styling of "The Diva." Just as with her previous hits, 'Jenni' will undoubtedly once again make 'Culpable o Inocente' into a radio success.
In this production, Jenni Rivera has chosen to produce her own album to make herself known as the woman she is and not as the artist that everyone knows. "I wanted to produce this record completely on my own because I wanted a production in which people get to know me, not as an artist or celebrity, but as what I am, as a woman. In the end, that's all I am, a woman just like any other woman... "With doubts and solutions, with defects and virtues, with love and coldness...smooth like a dove, but feline like a lioness"...proudly...I'm part of that "strong, weaker sex." Via this record, simply entitled "JENNI", I wanted to convey the sentiments of what "JENNI" is.....simply a woman. From the photos to the lyrics of every song...this is "JENNI"," stated 'The Diva.'
"Jenni" has 12 spectacular tracks, plus a bonus track, four of which were composed by 'The Diva.' With this record, Jenni Rivera offers us tracks of great significance to her, as well as new tracks chosen by the singer, with messages of love and coldness and with special dedications.
The tracks included on this magnificent record are: "Chuper Amigos", "Culpable O Inocente", Envuélvete", "Tu Camisa Puesta", "Ni Me Viene Ni Me Va", "Con El", "Cuando Me Acuerdo De Ti", "Fraude", "Trono Caído", "Vale La Pena", "La Cama", and "Mudanzas".
Throughout her career, 'The Diva of Banda' has enjoyed a legion of loyal fans made up of a multi-generational audience that admires her talent and musical integrity.

Nonetheless, on this album all the songs in one way or another apply either to my experiences or my emotions,” Jenni Rivera states.

Jenni Rivera biography
She began to record and play with music in 1993, but it wasn't until 1999 that she began to show her talent as a singer-songwriter, a talent inherited from the musical legacy of the renowned Rivera family, of which she is extremely proud. Since she was a child, her environment would mark her musical destiny. Her interest in music grew when she would watch her father and brothers spend hours in recording studios or singing traditional Regional Mexican style songs, particularly Corridos and Norteñas.
Born in Long Beach, California of Mexican immigrant parents, at an early age Jenni Rivera already felt the calling of Regional Mexican music in her heart. Jenni Rivera is far from her early years as a Business Administration student who went on to work as a real estate agent, as well as helped her father run his record company.
In 1999, Jenni Rivera would release her debut album scoring her first chart- busting-Corrido hit of her authorship, “Las Malandrinas,” off her debut album on Fonovisa Records titled “Que Me Entierren Con La Banda.” On her sophomore album “Dejate Amar,” Jenni repeated her success with another chart busting hit titled “Mi Querida Socia.” In 2002 Jenni earned a GRAMMY® nomination as Best Banda Album for her album “Se Las Voy A Dar A Otro”.
