Rap superstar Jim Jones rolls out three pre-released songs from his highly anticipated forthcoming new album, PRAY IV REIGN today exclusively on iTunes. The exclusive “Countdown To PRAY IV REIGN” begins with “Na Na Nana Na Na” on February 17, followed by “Precious” on March 3 and “Frienemies” on March 17.
The first single from PRAY IV REIGN, “Pop Champagne” by Jim Jones and Ron Browz (featuring Juelz Santana), which spent two weeks as America’s #1 urban single, is also incorporated into the countdown and is already available for sale.
The eagerly-awaited PRAY IV REIGN, Jones’ major label album debut on Columbia Records, will be available in stores and online on Tuesday, March 24. iTunes customers will be able to "Complete My Album" when they purchase PRAY IV REIGN, without being charged again for tracks they've already purchased.
Jim Jones exploded onto the rap scene as C.E.O. of Diplomat Records (label co-founded with childhood friend, famed rapper Cam’ron), which spawned the Diplomats and the Dipset Crew. Jones’ debut performance came on the compilation album Diplomatic Immunity, which was closely followed by his debut solo album, On My Way To Church in 2004. That same year, Diplomat Records/Koch Records released, Diplomatic Immunity 2. Jones released his sophomore solo album, Harlem: Diary of a Summer in August 2005 and 2006’s Hustler’s P.O.M.E became Jones’ most successful release to date due to the success of the smash hit single “We Fly High (Ballin’).”
In anticipation of the release of PRAY IV REIGN, Jim Jones will star in the Hip-Hop Monologues: Inside the Life and Mind of Jim Jones, an off-Broadway play set to the new album. Jones will also release “This Is Jim Jones,” a documentary film chronicling his rise from the Bronx and the streets of Harlem as a founding member of the pioneering hip-hop collective the Diplomats to become one of the genre’s most profoundly influential executives and important artists.
