That's a little bit what it was like catching Jonny Lives! during their recent residency at the Lit on New York City's Lower East Side-the stunning realization you're there at the beginning of what could be the next big thing in rock & roll. Led by charismatic guitarist/vocalist Jonny Dubowski, the band at once evokes the classic garage-rock origins of those legendary groups, while updating the sound with unbridled enthusiasm on songs like the in-your-face anthem, “Get Steady.” In the tradition of Big Apple rockers from the Dolls to the Strokes, and part of a community which also includes the Mooney Suzuki, Fountains of Wayne and Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!'s Jonny Lives! are about to release their debut album through ADA. Be there from the beginning. This could be the start of something big.
