Joseph Arthur 'Temporary People' album

Joseph Arthur's fourth and final EP, Foreign Girls, is out now. All four EPs -- Could We Survive, Crazy Rain, Vagabond Skies and now Foreign Girls - are really a double album-in-disguise, hailed by the Boston Globe as, "charming folk-rock to lo-fi bedroom pop to spacey orchestral maneuvers in the dark - often within the span of a single EP." The EP series is a prelude to Temporary People, the second LP by Joseph Arthur & the Lonely Astronauts (September 30 / Lonely Astronaut Records.)

“It’s almost like the '50s again when it was all about singles,” says Joseph. “I’ve always liked the EP because it has a looseness to it. I think songs work best off of each other.”

Foreign Girls (which the Philadephia City Paper calls an "intimate lo-fi affair featuring his gut-wrenching spoken word side") may be the most eclectic and unsparing of the EPs; recorded entirely in the fabled Diamond Room, Joseph’s own studio, in the back of Museum of Modern Arthur (Joseph's art gallery in Dumbo.) Foreign Girls spans from glittering with the track "Stay" all the way to gritty with "New Satisfaction." The EP also includes, "Lovely Cost," which has already become a fan favorite featured on Joseph’s tumblr.com site (his digital "living" album) and the title track which has already received over 10,000 streams on his MySpace page.
