Judas Priest has finally finished its new album. The band's official website says after two years in the making, "Nostradamus" will hit stores on June 17th. The Rock monsters' 16th studio album is a two-disc set that tells the story of the 16th century prophet who predicted all sorts of bad stuff.
Priest has never done a concept album before. There will be a standard double-CD in a jewel box, a deluxe version with a hardcover book, and a super-deluxe edition that will include three vinyl records along with the CDs.
A big tour is in the works.
The band will headline this summer's Metal Masters tour. Also on the bill are the Ronnie James Dio version of Black Sabbath, which is still known as Heaven & Hell; Motorhead and Testament. The tour kicks off on August 6th in Camden, New Jersey.
"We insisted on a classic metal package, which is what we've got," says head Priest Rob Halford.
Priest fans can download the title track from the band's forthcoming 2-CD set, "Nostradamus" for free at tour promoter Live Nation's website. Also look for a 5-disc box set from Heaven & Hell called "The Rules Of Hell." The Rhino release will be credited to Black Sabbath since it contains newly remastered vesions of that lineup's three studio and one double-live album.
Look for it on July 22nd.
