The Sydney-born Russell, who credits her parents for passing their deep love for traditional country music on to her, began singing at age five and was soon harmonizing with her grandmother, who sang what Russell calls "light opera." Kate Russell releases the same-titled single "Powerful Stuff" as her latest album. The song is also available on a country compilation disc put out on Ross Allen's Hillcrest label. "Powerful Stuff" has been chosen as part of the sound track for "Tales From The Trail" a series which will film The Toyota Extreme Sports team as they tear it up across the USA We gave "Powerful Stuff" by pop artist Kate Russell a listen and yeah, it's a nice song (August, 2008). An oldie but didnot make it to 'goodie'. Apparantly not enough attention to make it to the top. A pity...
