Kenny Loggins is without a doubt one of the most successful songwriters and performers in the world. With a career spanning more than thirty years, Mr. Loggins is one-man commercial powerhouse, attaining twelve Platinum plus albums and fourteen Gold albums.

But Gold and Platinum records don't tell the whole story. They don't explain why Kenny Loggins has been a musical treasure for more than thirty years. It's more about the way he touches people, the way his songs make you feel. It's about his deep connection with his fans. And it's about time he did it again.

On August 19, 2003, Kenny Loggins will release It's About Time, his ninth album of all-new material and the first in more than six years. Longtime fans will instantly recognize it as Kenny masterfully doing what he's always done best: Writing and performing powerful, insightful songs.

"I've had old friends call me and say, 'This isn't the Kenny Loggins I expected.' That's what they said about Celebrate Me Home." In fact, there's plenty of Celebrate Me Home's spunk and soul on It's About Time, because once again Loggins has boldly gone in the other direction. His last couple of albums (More Songs From Pooh Corner and a Christmas record, December) strayed from the variations on pop and folk that Loggins had been recording since he and Jim Messina first hooked up in the early '70s. Not so with It's About Time. Loggins, along with co-producer Tommy Sims (Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen, The Neville Brothers) and engineer Tony Shepperd (Madonna, Whitney Houston, Take 6), mixes in beautiful love songs ("With This Ring," "I Miss Us," "No Other Voice") with some very heady and difficult topics ("It's About Time," "The One That Got Away," "This Is How My Song Goes") in the context of a musical landscape that recalls so much of what we've come to love from Kenny Loggins.

"I wanted to bring an eclectic feel to this album," he mentions. And he's done just that. It's About Time features country and classic R&B, a piano ballad and rock with tribal rhythms. There's light and airy acoustic guitar, a lullaby and a funked-up rocker. It's About Time is further connected to classic Kenny Loggins by the inclusion of his old friend Michael McDonald on "It's About Time," and the autobiographical "Alive 'N Kickin'," which he wrote with Country music legend Clint Black.

It's About Time, which is being released on All The Best! Records, was started in Santa Barbara when Kenny demoed "No Other Voice," an acoustic love song to his wife. It was back and forth to Nashville as he worked on songs with Sims, and then overdubs were finished up with Shepperd back in Santa Barbara. Among the top-shelf musicians who joined Loggins on the album were Richard Marx, Clint Black and Toad the Wet Sprocket frontman Glen Phillips.
