Labrinth Causes An Earthquake With Busta Rhymes

by , Editor on February 11, 2012 | genre: pop

UK's rising star Labrinth is ready to take the leap over the Atlantic for his first US single 'Earthquake' featuring nobody else then Busta Rhymes. You can title it as a remix because last year the original single featured Tinie Tempah. That one topped the chart in the UK and adding the more hip hop-oriented Busta should accomplish the same in the US.

Officially this will be his third single. The first one 'Let The Sun Shine' was released in 2010. Next month his debut album 'Electronic Earth' is scheduled to be released on March 19th in the UK. Naturally an US-version has to be released to include this remix as well.

Naturally it does not stop with his album. This month he is touring the UK which is already sold out. Later this year (expect Spring/Summer) he will be ready to tour the US or his music has gotten the attention it deserves.

Labrinth
Peter Edge, CEO, RCA Records says, “I first met Labrinth when he was producing a lot of the freshest new records I’d heard, like “Pass Out” by Tinie Tempah. I came to discover he is a remarkable talent as a writer, producer, musician and most of all, one of the best new artists you will hear this year.”

Signed to Simon Cowell’s Syco Records in the UK, 22-year old Labrinth has become the trailblazing artist on everybody’s lips. Labrinth was just announced as the feature artist of VEVO’s first ever LIFT promotion in the UK. Since featuring on, and producing Tinie Tempah’s “Pass Out” and “Frisky”, Labrinth has quickly become one of the most significant emerging artists of the past 18 months. “Pass Out” won a 2011 Brit Award for Best British Single; and Labrinth also won a 2011 Ivor Novello Award for ‘Pass Out” in the best contemporary song category. Last September the multi-talented musician debuted his first single “Let The Sunshine”. The single rocketed straight into the top three and was still being played on UK radio six months later. The follow up “Earthquake” arrived in October [a year after his debut] and went in at #2. A song of seismic proportions, “Earthquake” (the UK version features long time collaborator Tinie Tempah) and stayed in the top ten for an incredible 12 weeks with over 500k singles sold.
