LEE ROCKER is best known as the bass player for multi-million selling rockabilly stars THE STRAY CATS, but he’s also an acclaimed solo artist playing energized, original Americana roots music.
LEE ROCKER’s live shows have a reputation as rowdy, high-octane romps, full of razor-sharp musicianship and primal rock fury. Tour dates in support of RACIN’ THE DEVIL will begin in February 2006 and take Lee and his band all over the U.S.
RACIN’ THE DEVIL shows off Lee Rocker’s hard-driving vision of American roots music, where feisty roots rock ‘n’ roll mixes with hooky country twang, heartland rock and, yes, blistering rockabilly from one of the genre’s giants. From an inspired take on Carl Perkins’ “Say When” to the fiery picking by guitarists Brophy Dale and Buzz Campbell to Lee’s raving reinvention of the Stray Cats’ Top Ten hit “Rock This Town,” this record shows Lee Rocker to be a first-class Americana artist who just happens to have a pop star past.
