Lethal Bizzle is set to release his debut solo album Against All Oddz on August 8 th . A true catalogue of his life, Lethal cuts through all the fake bullshit and hype and delivers an album which addresses real issues which have affected him; from the More Fire Crew situation, having a top 10 record with ‘Oi' , making the biggest club tune of 2004 Pow (Forward) , beef with different people on the scene, his relationships, forming Fire Camp , and how he deals with haters and some of the negative attention he gets because of his position in the scene. Against All Oddz is a true expression of his character and allows the audience to get past the hype to see the artist that is Lethal Bizzle .

    Lethal Bizzle

    against all oddz…

Back in 2002 after More Fire Crew were dropped from their label, Lethal endured a big fall from the top. He went back to the underground and grafted hard for two years, doing live shows and getting his name back out there on pirate radio. He built a buzz up around his name again, set up his label Lethal Bizzle Records, and after scouting a beat from producer Dexplicit he brought 10 MCs together and made the Pow (Forward Riddim) . Lethal put his own money down to make a video, did all of his own promotions and made the massive club anthem Pow (Forward Riddim) - which charted at #11 in the national charts in Dec 2004.

    The album is a diary of all his experiences from back in More Fire days to the present time. It catalogues his struggle to bring himself to where he is today- he expresses himself using a variety of styles and influences ranging from hip-hop, rock, grime and soul. Lethal spits his bars and also adds his soulful vocals to the equation. Who better to break it down for us than the man himself;

da bizzle in his own words…

    Uh-Oh! (I'm Back)
“This tune is about me, I'm back. I'm here man, it is my official comeback. The lyrics are a bit of an explanation about the More Fire thing and it is also looking at how people see me. I've been stereotyped as a bad naughty artist- people are worried like ‘Uh Oh this guys back'. I'm not naughty I just make crazy music but at the same time in a positive way.”

    Shame
“This is basically more or less the whole explanation of what happened with More Fire Crew. It is a serious tune- getting dropped from a label is the worst thing that can happen to an artist. At the time it wasn't funny, but I just took it on the chin and turned it into a positive thing. To all the haters that were loving it when More Fire were going down- it's saying we are still here, still smiling.”

    Do It
“It's about the whole Forward Riddim track, I think I created something that had never been done before, joining together crews that don't like eachother. How we all came together proved that unity is strength, there hasn't been a tune from our scene that big since 2002. I think the scene has learnt a lot from it and we will move forward if people start working together.”

    Mind Your Head
“ This was a bit of an experiment for me, I always wanted to make a tune with a rock element- rock has the same kind of energy as garage/ grime. ‘Mind Your Head' is another way of saying to people who weren't taking me seriously to mind what is going on around them. I think that was the most enjoyable tune to record from the album - I felt like a rock star in the studio that day.”

    Against All Oddz
“ This is a more personal track about all the things I was feeling when I got dropped. I was looking around and no one wanted to know me- that taught me a lot- who my friends really are. It's weird how people react, when I was the flava of the month everyone wanted to know me. I've seen both sides so I know who I can really trust.”

Slow “ Something for the ladies, it's about a girl in a club who has spied me and is feeling Da Bizzle. I get the courage up and go and speak to her- we start dancing and that leads to other things. I just wanted to represent for the ladies and have a track they could relate to.”

    Had to Go
“ This is about a girl I used to see, she kind of took me for a dickhead, so I wrote the song to get my story across. It was my first proper relationship, so it's just an honest representation of what was going on.”

    No!
“ It's about letting other artists know that if they try and take shots against me and my crew we don't care, we will keep doing our thing. It came about because a certain crew were trying to take shots our way- instead of doing a diss record we decided to make a hit record about the whole thing- rather than acting negative we turned it to something positive.”

    Truth
“ When I was trying to get back in the scene certain people were trying to block me. What goes around comes around- certain guys who had a status were trying to prevent me from getting big. I just wanted to address it to them, and get things straight.”

    The Best
“Another club tune expressing a little love to the ladies- a certain species I love. It's just a funky happy club tune, about boys and girls having a good time. Watch out for the video dropping on your screens soon.”

    Should of Known
“ This is about an incident that happened to me at the beginning of the year. Old friends from school set me up, I have a had a lot of haters wanting to bring me down but this took it to the next level. It's just something I have to deal with.”

    Hitman
“This is me being a bit cheeky cos I have had a few hits under my belt. I'm showing a bit of my confidence and giving an explanation of what I have done and how I am going to keep on coming back with the hits.”

    Till Next Time
“About the whole scene at the moment, I'm trying to explain to people in the scene that we can take this as big as we want to take it- it's down to us. Forward showed what everyone coming together can do. There is too much negative stuff going on, if there was no hating there would be more people going to the next level. We need to show love to the next guys coming through”
