At thirteen years of age, Lil’J Xavier has caused the industry to take notice. This young and gifted artist has a style that captures the eyes and heart at first sight. He has the moves, the presence, and the personality. Lil’J makes a statement and a strong presentation that engages the young. His performance at schools stirs up the youth and gets them to participate. He has recorded with the Legendary George Clinton and recently recorded with Bishop T.D. Jakes.
Lil’J is in with the best of sports, music, and politics - from performing at the National Black Caucus Convention at the behest of Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, to Rocket’s and Comet’s half-time, to the Seventh Annual Wall Street Project Conference in New York with Reverend Jesse Jackson sponsored by the Rainbow PUSH Coalition. Lil’J performed in the R&B Hip Hop Entertainment Showcase at the Conference.
In 2003, he was awarded with the “Best Song Of The Year” at the Houston Holy Hip Hop Awards and in 2004 for “Best Stage Performer Of The Year”. Lil’ J performed with internationally acclaimed stars in Houston for the 2004 Superbowl Red Carpet Star Walk at the Mercury Room in downtown Houston. Pictures with the stars now make up a large part of his souvenir photo album - stars such as Nelly, Destiny’s Child, George Clinton, Ludacris, P. Diddy. JayZ, Quentin Terrantino, Chingy, Jermaine Dupri, and Murphy Lee, to name just a few.
Lil’J has been honored by then Houston Mayor Lee P. Brown with a proclamation that henceforth February 18 shall be Lil’J Xavier Day. He has also been appointed as a National Black Caucus Youth Spokesperson by Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee. Lil’J also serves as spokesperson for the World Youth Foundation Anti-Tobacco Campaign.
Lil’J is also a talented drummer and skilled writer. He co-wrote lyrics for several songs written for his projects. He has recently recorded songs for the WNBA’s Houston Comets and the NFL’s Houston Texans and is presently working on a song for the Houston Astros. Lil’J’s relationship with the NBA Houston Rockets has evolved into a song for Yao Ming titled “Yao Ming Wants the Dunk” plus a remix recently recorded with the legendary George Clinton.
In August 2004 he was named the winner of the “America’s Most Talented Kids Show” filmed in California. The show is a talent competition for youth across the USA and began airing on PAX-TV in October 2004. His latest accomplishments were winning the 2005 Texas Gospel Excellence Awards for “Rapper of the Year” and recently signing a national recording contract with Music World Entertainment/NooDay Entertainment with co-management provided by Mathew Knowles, Manager of Destiny’s Child.
