Frustration took its toll on the lives of Adam LoPorto and PJ Tepe. In efforts to spark some life into the complacent world of rock...

    Lux Courageous

... the two friends began writing under the Lux Courageous moniker. Soon enough, the two man acoustic act had expanded to a full on band. Life long friend of both PJ and Adam, Chris Valentino, signed up for drums while Jani Zubkovs stepped up for bass duties, significantly broadening the power of the band’s sound.

Numerous shows in the Tri-State area led to a devout following. Soon the band was sharing stages with Dashboard Confessional, Brand New,The Starting Line and many others. Late in 2003 the band released The Lion, a four song EP, on their own. With limited, mainly at shows and online, they had managed to sell over 4,000 copies. Erupting with harmony and energy, the freshly recorded tracks illustrated the band’s diversity in songwriting and showcased their new-found keyboardist, Justin Williams.

Late in 2004 the band packed up and headed into the studio with Matt Squire ( Northstar,
Stars Hide Fire, Thrice) to record their debut full length. Reasons That Keep The Ground Near
employs a brilliant guitar licks, round, yet staccato bass lines and innovative drum work that should have fans humming along after just one listen.
