Marvin Gaye is Getting It On - Let's Get It On

The second DVD-Audio from Marvin Gaye showcases his classic tracks in Advanced Resolution Surround Sound, Advanced Resolution Stereo and Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound. Let's Get It On (Motown/UMe), released February 24, 2004, features 8 songs, each newly digitally mastered for DVD-Audio.

It displays some of the key enhanced features of the format including an additional audio interview with the album's original co-writer/co-producer Ed Townsend, and stereo tracks mastered at the highest resolution possible (192 kHz/24-bit).

Let's Get It On features the original 1973 album, which became a #1 R&B album and #2 pop hit. Along with the hits "Let's Get It On" (#1 R&B/#1 pop), "Come Get To This"/"Distant Lover" (#4 R&B/#21 pop) and "You Sure Love To Ball"/"Just To Keep You Satisfied" (#13 R&B), Let's Get It On offers a fascinating look into the creative process of one of the giants of popular music and reveals the private life that inspired a landmark album.

Taking advantage of the large storage capacity of the DVD format, DVD-Audio gives music listeners the experience of studio-quality audio, a dramatically higher music resolution than a CD. To experience Advanced Resolution Audio, DVD-Audio discs require playback in a DVD-Audio Player (many DVD-Video Players are also DVD-Audio Players). Such players bear a DVD-Audio/Video logo on the front. DVD-Audio discs can also be played on PCs equipped with compatible sound cards.

All UMG's DVD-Audio discs also contain Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound, which plays on all DVD-Video Players. This allows music fans with Home Theater systems to experience Surround Sound without having to purchase a DVD-Audio/Video Player.
