Mistah F.A.B., born Stanley P. Cox , arrived in this world the morning of January 23rd 1982. Little did the world know that an artist and star would be born that morning in the cold and crisp city of Oakland. As he grew into a man he was nurtured by the loving arms of his mother Desrie Jeffery along with the struggles his family's hardship he fought on a regular basis. The most influential event would be the loss of his father to Aids in 1994. This would serve as a double blow to the pre-adolescent as his brother was sent to the state penitentiary the year before. Out of the heartache of the disappearing male role models in his life, F.A.B. found renewed strength and respect for the importance of life..

Writing was and is his main outlet in dealing with what seems to be a never ending disaster. What started out as poetry soon turned to songs, expressing his thoughts on life, death, love, the future, the past, and the present. In the 8th grade, he recorded his first song and those surrounding him soon came to realize the talent this young man had. He possessed the gift of a sharp pen, sharp tongue, and a sharp mind. At this point in time he also decided to stick to with the name he and his clique were frequently called--the acrynoym F.A.B.(faeva afta bread). Later he blessed the name with the title "Mistah", another acrynoym (Money is somthing to always have). Throughout high school, he kept his mind focused on music and writing, frequently ruling ciphers and performing to display his talent. Straight out of high school , F.A.B. decided that he would have to spread his name more to attain more exposure and a local fan base. He put together a small demo cd which quickly spread through the streets of Oakland. He placed third in the Source's unsigned hype freestyle-battle which awarded him a small spot in the source. After realizing how good his name looked in print, he started to thirst more for the music world. In June 2001, F.A.B.'s dreams would start to be realized as he was signed to the local Bay Area label, Straight Hits Entertainment. He immediately began the hours and hours of work to creating the LP "Nig-latin".
