New Skin 'New Skin' album

New Skin (Jen, Gil and Bob) is a London band. The seeds were planted in a north London pub 2004, after a love of similar music and madness was established round a coffee machine. We had both been in bands before, and felt a bit frustrated with the lack of drama and tongue-in-cheek proper pop songs around. So we started writing and decided to get a band together. We then played a few gigs around town, and got offered to do an album. It was recorded during the summer of 2005 with Dave "Steve" Allen on producing duties in Beethoven street studios, London. In Febuary we shot our debut video in London with Mats Lundberg, hours of blue screen and russian wrestlers summed up in 4 minutes to the sound of our song "New Skin".

During the spring we stepped up the beef, and started looking for a drummer. Jen and Gil went to an electro fest in Camden, and saw a band called The Modern play. Both of their eyes kept graviting towards the whirling dervish of a mess that was Mr. Bob playing drums. Plans were hatched, schemes were made..we decided to go shoplifting. Following a phone call and a few J.D and cokes, it quickly became clear that we were all on a similar page musically. Like a madman Bob decided to dip his curious toes into the dirty water of New Skin, and join us on our U.S tour with Gary Numan. We have just started gigging again after a winter heavy with rehearsals, and just finished a tour in the states with Gary Numan to prepare for the full length debut album release on the 19th of September. The tour kicked off on the 31st of July in Detroit, and saw us travelling, rocking and boozing our way through some 20 or so cities, and even more boxes of cigarettes. The tour ironically ended in Disneyland, CA. With Mickey's eyes and ears bleeding.

We were thrilled with the response from numanoids, clerics, gothie gurls and geeks alike. Looking forward we will now start preparing for the album release, and will continue gigging and touring our way around the U.K, Europe and U.S. Please also check our website out. Kamikazi love pilots unite!!
