The new year is kicking off with the release of Nickel Eye's (aka Nikolai Fraiture of The Strokes) debut album, "The Time of the Assassins". The record is out on January 27, 2009 and sounds like a low-fi, stripped down garage/folk affair inspired by some of his favorite artists, including Neil Young, Frank Black, The Kinks and Leonard Cohen.
