Emo rock with an emphasis on the "rock." Think the Used meets Underoath. Their lyrics set them apart from the typical emo genre bands as they actually have something to say! Catch them on the Warped Tour this summer.
Panima started working on pre production for the "Take Cover" EP about three days before they tracked the record. They had a opportunity to record with Jeff "Number One Gun" Schneeweis up in Chico Ca as he had just finished up with Hawthorne Heights he had a two week studio opening.

The band had been touring all year long and had just found out they had the whole of the Warped Tour secured and thought it be best to record some new songs.
The EP was definitely inspired the upcoming Election, also by the fact that Declare Yourself (voter registration) had approached lead singer David about representing them out on the Warped Tour this summer.David and the band felt the EP should contain both musically & lyrically some of the thoughts, ideas and issues that he would be covering on the DY campaign for Warped etc.
The EP sort of picks up where they left of on the previous EP "This Is Who We Are" but has more of and heavier edgier sound that blends in another dimension of the band and the new sound the band had been moving towards in their heads at rehearsals that includes synth's and strings etc.
Take Cover has infl's from their favorite bands from Jimmy Eat World,Thrice, Underoath & The Used etc etc.
biography
Panima's origins stem from the creative mind of singer/songwriter and multi instrumentalist David Martinez. It was a cold December night in 2005 when Steven Delman got the phone call from David about jamming together and starting a new band. After Panima's first rehearsal, the guys recorded their first single, "Dreams," which started a Myspace buzz that helped skyrocket their loyal fan base and online musicplays, which also attracted the attention of music attorney, Anita Rivas (who has or does represent clients such as Kung Fu Records, Hopeless Records, Fearless Records, Smartpunk, Kevin Lyman in connection with WARPED Tour and Taste of Chaos and Anti Flag) who now represents Panima.
Although the inspiration for Panima came from David and Steven's urge to write music that was positive, uplifting, and catchy, Panima is now a full-fledged band, with three additional members rounding out the band, including a background vocalist, all of which were friends prior to coming on board.
Within a little over one year, Panima managed to hit their 300,000 Myspace plays mark and acquire over 30,000 Myspace friends/fans. Panima has also been hard at work, recording at Hollywood Sound with producer/writer/arranger/manager, Roger Gisborne (who's worked with Mark Needham [The Killers, The Academy Is, My Chemical Romance], Rich Costey [Hot Hot Heat, Muse, Franz Ferdinand], Jeff Saltzman [Greenday, The Sounds) and The Shys on Sire) and The Steakhouse with engineer/mixer John Cranfield (Anti Flag, Queens of the Stoneage).
The band's long awaited 7 song EP, entitled, " " is due for release in March and will be available through mail order, at shows and online. The full length debut album is expected to be out beforeWARPED and is close to completion. Consistent with Panima's commitment to excellence, Panima shot two new beautiful broadcast quality music videos for "Wake Up" and "Act of Change." Wake Up has received an awesome online response and within 2 weeks the band attained "semi-finalist" status, for being the best band of the week, on Music Nation for Best Video, complete with quotes from Good Charlotte and Howard Benson. Every judge on the panel voted for Panima and Music Nation's label immediately contacted the band about a record deal with their partner Epic Records. Panima's videos will be included in the LP and the "Act of Change" video will be out in April, 2007 in support of the album.
Many record labels, such as RCA, Capitol, Fearless, Hollywood, Myspace, Immortal and Island have been hanging out and watching the band's performances while continuing to keep in contact with the band. Along with labels and fans, many recognized companies have picked up an interest on the buzz the young musicians are stirring up. So far, Panima has legitimately obtained endorsements from Orange Amps, RKS Guitars, Encore Cases, DareDevil Energy Drinks, Empact Clothing, One Serious Threat, and Battlefield Custom Drums. With endorsements like these, and a recent $5,000 first-place prize at a Murrieta, CA Battle of The Bands competition sponsored by Guitar Center and MTVU, it's not hard to see that Panima is a dedicated band of musicians who seriously love what they do.
Panima's busy lineup of performances includes dates and tours in several Southern California counties and Arizona. The band has headlined and played all the key clubs in the market including __________, and have played to thousands of kids in high schools, teen centers and coffeehouses across So Cal. The band has performed with Saosin, Paramore, ... and is scheduled on all of the Southern California WARPED dates.
