Recently, we have witnessed the commercial success of some “American Songbook” and “Standards”-type albums recorded by some very well-known pop and rock superstars, featuring older popular songs from the 30’s, 40’s, and 50’s, so perhaps I was ahead of the curve in my desire to release an album of pop “standards” back then.
