Robbers On High Street – Crown Victoria

Robbers' latest release Grand Animals, due to be released on July 24th via New Line Records, is a quirky power-pop tour de force, where their wry storytelling style comes fully to the fore, with enough eccentric oddball characters, tall tales, and music hall melodies to fill a Brooklyn bar. The video was directed by LA-based filmmaker Jason Argyropoulos (www.treefilmworks.com), who used a very unique technique on the footage. Jason shot the band, then created the background scenery by hand, and projected the footage of the band, frame by frame, on each background. He then shot each combination as individual frames. The whole process, which did not involve any computers or digital special effects, took several months to complete. I gave the song a listen and I like it. Let's see if it will grow on me. (January, 2008) Remember: oldie but goodie. Like wine, some songs get better due time. Is this one of them or was it just a one-day wonder? Click on the 'play'-button and enjoy! I give it . | ||||||
