Rattling guitars and striding bass lines are spliced with synths to make every song a space disco favourite (should such a thing exist). Understand... Rosalita's debut EP is teeth chatteringly good. Not content with capturing their magic on record, their live shows are far more of an event than any band at this stage of their career has any right to deliver.
"...posturing, prancing and preening... their two- and three-minute synthbuzz spurts sound like plinky-plonk electropop but with punky new wave guitars over the top" - guardian.co.uk/music
Theirs is a sound that draws on and cross-pollinates Punk, Pop, New Wave, Ska and Electro, there's no name for it - yet - but a leaner, meaner, younger British Rapture is not a million miles away. Regardless of the 'label' Rosalita end up with, they have already impressed Xfm, who have shown early support, and Radio 1's Huw Stevens has invited them to record a live Maida Vale Session.
"Single Of The Week. These young chaps are already showing great potential, and coming out fighting with 'Manga Girl.'... Keep one eye firmly on the additional track 'Art Attack' - which could be a belting future single. It's filthy bass line will draw you in like a hobo to a can of Special Brew..." - Artrocker
"They've got one odds-on hit in 'Manga Girl'." - NME
Having already created a stir with their limited edition debut single 'Manga Girl' in November 2007, Ipswich 5 piece, Rosalita have now been signed up by Taste Media a label renowned for strict quality control standards - their only previous signing is Muse. Having kept an eye on the band and seen a rapid development, beyond the pale work ethic and ever-growing fan base, Taste release Rosalita's first EP 'What Would Your Mother Say?' on limited edition 7" and download on May 8th to coincide with their 23-date national tour. Special collectors' CDs are available only at the live shows throughout the tour.
"The Young Knives meet Joy Division in a new rave soup! Very Shit Disco like and maybe a slither of Calvin Harris disco fun. Bloody Brilliant!" - www.noizemakesenemies.co.uk
"Foot tapping and memorable in a pop-punk Rapture kind of way" - Virtualfestivals.com
"the poppiest, most festival-friendly indie-disco tunes that any demo has ever contained" - High Voltage
