Sharon Jones and The Dap-Kings's Biography

Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings will release their latest full length, 100 Days, 100 Nights, on October 2nd on Daptone Records. 100 Days, 100 Nights is the group’s third full-length since they burst on the scene with their 2002 release, Dap Dippin’ With Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, on Bushwick, Brooklyn based label, Daptone Records. Since that time, the band has released 2005’s Naturally, and The Dap-Kings became sought after by artists ranging from Amy Winehouse (performing as the backing band on Winehouse’s Back to Black album and tour), Kanye West, Mark Ronson, Public Enemy’s Hank Shocklee, Lilly Allen, and more. In addition, Sharon contributed vocals to projects with Lou Reed, Rufus Wainwright, and They Might Be Giants. 100 Days, 100 Nights was recorded in the same Bushwick, Brooklyn Daptone studio as its predecessors, using all analog equipment to achieve the signature hard-hitting funk and soul sound that has made the band so in demand among musicians and fans alike.
