This album marks Sarah's 5th Top 15 charting album, joining the ranks of Mirrorball, Surfacing, Afterglow, and Wintersong.
Closer: The Best Of Sarah McLachlan contains 14 classic tracks personally selected by the artist from her award-winning catalog, as well as two newly recorded and previously unreleased songs, "U want me 2" and "Don't Give Up On Us," working with her longtime producer Pierre Marchand. Additionally, a deluxe limited edition 2-Disc set was also released, which includes a 28 page booklet insert featuring rare photos and original pen and ink drawings by Sarah, and boasts 11 additional recordings from Sarah's discography.

“I Will Remember You” – Sarah McLachlan founded the legendary Lilith Tour in 1997 and her quadruple-platinum album, Mirrorball (released 6/15/1999), was recorded live during the 1999 tour. “I Will Remember You” from Mirrorball earned Sarah her third career Grammy Award, again in the category of Best Female Pop Vocal.
