Smith: Baby It's You from Death Proof video + song

Quentin Tarantino’s Death Proof makes up half of the new exploitation movie double feature Grindhouse (a Tarantino/Rodriguez joint), and classic doo-wop, glam rock, and R&B songs from the ‘60s and ‘70s make up all of the Death Proof original soundtrack (out April 3rd on Maverick Records), save for a haunting composition from Oscar winning film score composer Ennio Morricone and snippets of charming dialogue from the two films.
Tarantino’s dedication to recreating the grindhouse experience is aurally indisputable, and late 60s pop/rock group Smith’s soul-saturated cover of the Shirelle’s “Baby It’s You” is the ringmaster of Death Proof’s bombastic sound parade.

We gave "Baby It's You from Death Proof" music video by Smith a listen and yeah, we like it. Let's see if it will 'grow' on us. (March, 2007) Remember: oldie but goodie. Like wine, some songs get better due time. Is this one of them or was it just a one-day wonder?
