The Snowgoons, the German based production team of Det, Illegal and DJ Waxwork, are at it again for their 3rd full length album, "A Fist in the Thought." The tracks have a raw energy that stems from both the intricately orchestrated production, as well as the eager lyrics of the hungry up and comers, The Savage Brothers & Lord Lhus; together, they are carving out a new sound in the hardcore underground world of indie hip-hop.
After teaming up for tracks on their sophomore effort "Black Snow," The Snowgoons have found a comfortable niche in the world of international collaborations. The dark, gloomy and brooding production rests beneath the high-energy vocals of the young MCs, whose sound is rounded out by features from Sean Price, Reef The Lost Cauze, King Syze, Sicknature & more.
"Their most refined work to date, "A Fist in the Thought" has a calculated aesthetic that reminds me of the energy, power and overall hunger I found in early Jedi Mind Tricks," says Babygrande CEO Chuck Wilson.
biography
What is the meaning of hardcore? Is it really just hard to the core or is there more to it, a deeper meaning? What does it mean when they say „Stay true to the game?“ and what is the outcome when The Snowgoons team up with pure southern ruggedness? The answer is simple: A straight non commercial hardknocking album which hits you right in your head. To put it short: „A Fist In The Thought“.
Well, spring’s over and the Goons unveil their latest and tightest masterpiece since they are signed to indie powerhouse babygrande records. Along with Lord Lhus of Bloodline and The Savage Brothers, all from Columbia, South Carolina, The Snowgoons decided to take a road less travelled by the magnitude recording an album solely with these up and coming artists Lord Lhus and The Savage Brothers.
These S.C MC’s spit pure fire over top of the notch produced Snowgoons beats and with a little help from your usual Snowgoons suspects such as Philly’s own Reef the Lost Cauze, Viro the Virus, Brainstorm, King Syze, Planet X and Heavy Hitter Sean Price this formula turns out to be a real breathtaker. No skits, no interludes. Just 17 raw and rugged symphonies that give fans an impression what life is all about from the S.C. perspective. Sincere, dirty, grimey, hard to the core. Hardcore. You can feel the hunger through your speakers – and you don’t wanna fight hunger!
