Streetlab
After years of re-inventing popular tracks such as The Rolling Stones’ “Gimme Shelter” and Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Fortunate Son” the pair began venturing into writing original material, including “NYSound,” a single that has generated a multi-faceted degree of buzz and coverage since its 2008 release. Since gaining the support of various top-notch radio DJs and record labels, and receiving praise from media outlets from the likes of Billboard Magazine and URB.com, Streetlab is gearing up to release its full-length debut, slated for an April 2010 release.

Influenced by the music scene of the early 90’s, Lamorg and Leary started out remixing classic rock songs, creating tracks that defied the boundaries of music genre and ended up appealing to both rockers and club-goers. Their early remixes caught the attention of BBC Radio1’s Annie Nightingale, and in 2002, inspired indie-rock label Kanine Records to solicit the duo to contribute remixes of tracks by Mixel Pixel and Professor Murder. Astralwerks and Invisible Records followed suit, adding Streetlab mixes to their repertoires. The talented duo spent the next few years teaming up with New York DJs and club promoters, remixing tracks for Parisian acts PlayGround and Thieves Like Us, and creating their own versions of songs made famous by everyone from Nine Inch Nails and Hot Chip to Led Zeppelin and Bob Marley.

In early 2008, Streetlab released original material to the public for the first time on its website. The song “NYSound” instantly zeroed in on the eardrums of bloggers and music supervisors and everyone in between. Even if you’re not scouring blogs and digging through vinyl crates, there’s a good chance you heard Streetlab’s “NYSound” and bobbed your head along to the banger as it was featured in HBO’s Entourage, CBS’ The Eleventh Hour, and on the Apple iPod/iPhone game Tap Tap Revenge 2.

Attention from record labels kept pouring in as Streetlab’s remix of indie titans Passion Pit’s “Sleephead” and Heartsrevolution’s “C.Y.O.A.” were picked up by online record label RCRD LBL and IHeartComix, respectively. Streetlab rode the waves of buzz momentum and secured performances alongside the likes of Chairlift, Hot Pink Delorean, and LA Riots.

With a endless list of remixes and a growing collection of original material to their name, Streetlab is gearing up to unleash a whirlwind of new songs with a slew of acclaimed vocalists. Brace yourselves for an album that is bombastic, immersive, and surpassing the parameters of BPM. They’re latest single “Rat Racer” is available on iTunes and will be the first single off of the debut full-length album set for release on April 20, 2010. In addition to some March tour dates, the duo will be kicking off 2010 with an in-store performance at the Best Buy in NYC’s Union Square.

"Streetlab has since built up an impressive set of club -ready commissioned remixes from such acts as Crystal Castles, Nine Inch Nails, and Kinski, plus several original grooves of its own" -Billboard Magazine

"Members Coz and Ryan base their music on the ability to make rock and dance music the same…so there are no excuses for being a wallflower!" -URB.com Artist of the Week

Streetlab biography
Streetlab is an electro-rock music duo from NYC formed in late 2001 by Mark 'Cosmo' Lamorg and Ryan Leary. Taking the role as in-studio producers and songwriters, the two began by remixing classic rock songs with the dance-floor in mind. Being raised on the music scenes of the early 90's, the two attempt to erase boundaries - making music that appeals to both rockers and dancers.

After receiving much support from Radio 1's Annie Nightingale for their remixes, Streetlab inspired indie-rock label Kanine Records, where they contributed remixes to their catalog for Mixel Pixel and Professor Murder. Astralwerks and Invisible Records were up next, receiving remixes for artists Prophet Omega and Rx. The two also landed a mix on The Limitless Potential, a compilation of Nine Inch Nails songs from the album Year Zero.

In the past, Streetlab has teamed up with NYC DJ Eamon Harkin, and NYC club promoter GBH for mixes of Crystal Castles and Black DanieL. From there, they connected with Parisian acts PlayGround and Thieves Like Us for remix treatments. By early 2008 the two began sneaking out original material on their WebSite. The song 'NYSound' generated great internet buzz and received even more radio support from BBC Radio 1. Following this up with remixes for Hot Chip and IHeartComix's Heartsrevolution, Streetlab caught the attention of RCRD LBL / Downtown Records. RCRD LBL released 'NYSound' in September '08 and has another single set to release in the coming months. In the summer of 2009, the duo's single "NY Sound" was featured in Episode 2 of the sixth season of HBO's Entourage
