The Blackout 'We Are The Dynamite' album

THE BLACKOUT are six metallic troubadours from Merthyr Tydfil in Wales. They consist of Sean Smith (vocals), Gavin Butler (vocals), James Davies (guitar), Matthew Davies (guitar), Rhys Lewis (bass) and Gareth Lawrence (drums). ‘We Are The Dynamite!’ is their debut full-length album out on Fierce Panda.

Fierce Panda have been home to many artists including Coldplay, Placebo, Death Cab For Cutie & Art Brut. All of which have gone on to do huge things, cementing the labels reputation for being forerunners in great music, and now they’ve struck gold again with The Blackout!

“We Are The Dynamite!” was recorded at Longwave Studios in Cardiff & Produced by Romesh Dodangoda (Funeral For A Friend, Bullet For My Valentine, Ian Watkins). The end result is an enviably tight collection of rock monster melodic meltdowns, blasted by serious metal riffage and bursting at the screams with exuberant hooks. ‘We Are The Dynamite!’ features nine brand new songs and the reworking of two tracks from the mini album ‘The Blackout! The Blackout! The Blackout!’ (Namely ‘Murder In The Make-Believe Ballroom’ and ‘It’s High Tide Baby!’)

They have already shared stages with Gallows, Enter Shikari, Fightstar, Lostprophets & The Used and will embark on a headline UK tour in October with Pierce The Veil (see below)

Second single ‘Its High Tide Baby’ will be released on CD / Maxi-CD / 7” picture disc/download on 11th February 2008. ‘We Are The Dynamite!’ - Explosive stuff indeed.
